A dental bridge spans across two or more teeth to cover the space created by loss of teeth due to decay,fracture,trauma,etc.It takes the support of neighbouring heathy teeth known as abutments. The missing teeth are the pontics.
The tooth or teeth to be capped are trimmed down to allow sufficient space for the crown /bridge to fit.
